Rainbow Amour is a small home-based incorporated and fully licensed business focusing on breeding Biewer Terriers and helping adopting families succeed in their adventure with their new family member. We are located in Edmonton, Alberta. All our dogs, breeders or pets, are treated with the same love and quality, whether living with us or placed in a Guardian home. When the dams aren't raising litters, they are considered our pets and are included in everything that we do. All of the puppies produced by Rainbow Amour are registered with CKC/AKC.

The dogs at Rainbow Amour are raw fed (BARF) by offering a minimum of 8-10 different proteins from a minimum of 4-5 different brands. This huge variety ensures that their diet is balanced over time. We also add green tripe, probiotics, fresh/dried greens, and a variety of other supplements to the food a few times week. We offer them daily chews of either raw bones, pizzle sticks, or other dried or frozen animal parts. 

The dogs are offered treats hidden in smart/puzzle toys a few times a week. These toys help develop problem-solving skills and keep their minds engaged and excited about treats. For treats, we offer a variety of freeze-dried meats cut in tiny pieces from a variety of brands. 

Our dogs are all up to date on their vaccinations and get a yearly physical exam at the minimum to stay on top of general their health. The dams may see a vet when pregnant if there are any concerns regarding the health of the dam or of her puppies.

To ensure the best possible health for our puppies, we believe in obtaining CHIC/OFA certification with all of our breeding dogs. DNA testing is completed by Embark. The results from any of these tests are available upon request. Pedigrees are also available upon request.

When the dams are whelping and raising litters, they are given a private area in a closed off room on our 2nd floor. The puppies remain in that room for the first 6 weeks. Once old enough, the puppies are relocated to our living room on the main floor, where they spend their remaining 6 weeks with us, learning everything from good manners to basic house training.

Sandra and Philippe are a married couple from the French speaking community of Alberta. Their only children are their dogs, and maybe another pet or two. They both enjoy the company of animals, and the dogs travel with them nearly everywhere they go, whether it be a supper at a family member’s house, or a camping trip.
